The beginning was great, the ending was perfect. I only wish there was another show of this high quality that I could watch! The writing is flawless. The acting is flawless. The show was one of the best I have seen. I couldn't stop watching from beginning to end. I want to start over and do it again.

One of the greatest comedies ever. The number is great and although some of the later episodes weren't so great the majority of them were amazing. All the episodes make me laugh many times. A great show that was sad to see end but had a great run.

Scottish football reached a new high when this show first came along, with brilliantly written storylines, remember able characters and laugh-a-minute gags all round, from Winston's leg, Tam's tight-fistedness and Isa's nosy nature makes for an unforgettable TV Show with hardly a bad episode at all. That is, the first 6 seasons. After a mediocre live show in 2014, the true revival was on. Series 7 was surprisingly good for a revived shoe, still keeping much of the camaraderie the show maintained over the years. Series 8 was pretty disappointing and where the cracks really began to show and so far, series 9 is truly shockingly bad. After taking the mickey out of revived shows as well, the joke seems to have backfired on them. Let sleeping sitcoms lie.

Honestly I don't have a single good thing to say about this. I've seen so many hours of this show (not by choice) and never laughed once. It's slow, painful, the characters are just annoying, the stories per episode are painfully dull. I don't understand how it's gone on so long, or classed as a "cult classic" like.. is this the best Scottish comedy has to offer? It's not charming, cute, funny, endearing, I think it tries to be but it just falls on it's arse. It's just terrible.

Don't understand how people find this funny it's atrocious, it's up there as being as bad as Mrs Brown's Boys. 1 star, doesn't deserve any high than that.

Chewing the fat is admittedly a local program for local people. you'll only find it all funny if you are, or know the Scottish people and understand the accents. Still game however has the Scottish based humour, but also the general funny situations of old people. Inez the gossip, Tam the B*st*rd, Winston the smart *rse. It's good how they show what old folk do with all their spare time. This program is just brilliant. series three is a little lacking of the spark of the first two series though. It doesn't quite come to the standard of Rab C Nesbitt, which is the funniest thing ever to come out of Scotland, except the football team that is!
