When I first saw that there was going to be a new TV series called Harper's Island and it was going to be scary, I was so excited to watch it, as I am a huge fan of horror/thriller movies. I unfortunately missed the first episode, but watched it on the internet that weekend. From there on, I have watched every single episode and loved this series. It's amazing to have something different on TV, especially now that it's summer and only re-runs and pointless reality shows are on. This is one of the only TV shows I ever keep up with and watch every single episode of. I'll surely be disappointed when the seasons over, but I hope the produced and writer will make another series just as good. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, and even if your not a fan of scary movies, you have nothing to be worried about. Its not really horror, but it is big in mystery.

The series start out really really weak, first 2/3 episodes are just... well... OK I guess, but not too impressive or interesting at all. However, if you keep watching it, around episode 5 or 6 it starts getting good. Some might say that in a way this might be kind of a "Lost" ripoff. However, in my own opinion it is an improved version. Less "Mystery" more "Story" (which starts developing around episode 5 or 6 or so) Much more character background to begin with, developing more during the action instead of flashbacks. (though there are a few flashbacks to back up Abby's background) However, since the group is thinned out one by one, at some point there will be either no more future for the series or they should add some lame twist (as in... add a massive amount of characters so there will be plenty more to die) Well worth watching, though there is a wide array of better series out there.

Just finished Harper's Island and it was entertaining. So why the rating? Cause aside from the main story which is very engaging and is sadly torn between awful script, bad bad dialogues and horrible casting, you get to suffer from way under budget production, amateur cinematography and hideous soap opera directing.

Found this a good, dramatic horror/thriller. Gripping and a bit different - doesn't go too far on the 'horror' side of things. Found it a really good show up until the final twist at the end when Wakefield's accomplice is finally revealed. Found the reason for said individual weak and the character prior to that didn't connect either. Then it got a bit weird. I don't know what would have done the rest of the series justice, but that wasn't it. That aside, it was a very good watch. Maybe a bit ahead of its time given the success American Horror Story has had since.

A slasher series comprised of 13 episodes is about a serial killer on rampage... Though there's plenty of resemblance to franchise like Scream this one is good in its own way. Every episodes keeps you guessing on what will happen next . The suspense build well ,the performances are about ok . Midway through it elevates high but around the last two episodes it does falls down with some flawed writing. Not to take away this is a very underrated Suspense Slasher flick which can be binged watch .Wonder why there was no another season !

I hope some other TV channels could bring such short series, in the style of 25 episode Anime series as the Japanese do. This series was like a fresh wind in TV history, well written, excellent actors (than were not famous at all, more fresh wind!), the intrigues and the questions that evolve with each episode in the series make you wish more an more, why isn't possible to bring such quality nowadays? we keep hoping on LOST episodes, or the new FLASH FORWARD (getting bored), but cant find such rough diamonds like this masterpiece, i advise everyone out there to watch the 13 episodes of this series, you will not be disappointed. An standing ovation for everyone that make this amazing show possible, my wife and i enjoyed this like with no other TV show, and hope the script writers think on bringing similar or much better stories in the next future. 8/10. I liked it. I watched it within 3 days, it was very interesting and tense. I like that it wasn't predictable and you didn't know who was next. The characters were great, except for Abby I didn't like her. Everyone else was great and I kind of got attached to them which is a key moment in series like this. Of course, the end is nonsense. Those last 5 minutes of the end of the series disappointed me so much that I dropped the grade by 2. All in all, she's great. Look. Recommendation.

Remember the insurance commercial about the dumb fumbling around people in scary movies? This is 13 episodes of that. I gotta go now and call Geico.

What a waste of time this little gem was, I'd like to thank the writer and director for killing what started as a good show and is worth watching until you get to the last few episodes. In the end I was hoping for the bad guy to kill the main character, the plot line was very predictable and made the FBI out to be a bunch of morons, like putting blood samples around a building and that will convince such a thorough organisation such as the FBI that people have die and not bother to look for bodies. I really hope that they don't get picked up for a second series there are certainly better way to waste money. And as a final note it was shown on Sci-fi has no Sci-fi or any thing possible related to Sci-fi. People that like this are certainly hard up for entertainment or worked on it.
